Ship Short

A personal tool that posts one short-form video to several accounts at once.

Ship Short is a command line tool run locally by a single person. It takes a video file already on that person's computer and publishes it to their own social accounts, so the same file does not have to be uploaded by hand four times.

Single user by design. It runs on one machine, posts to the operator's own accounts, and has no sign up, no hosted service and no other users. There is nothing to create an account for.

What it does

Reads a video file from the local disk
Writes one title and caption, then formats it for each platform's limits
Uploads to every connected platform in parallel, then publishes together
Strips typographic punctuation that renders badly in captions

TikTok integration

Ship Short uses the Content Posting API with the video.upload scope to send a video to the operator's own TikTok account. The operator grants access through TikTok's own login screen and can revoke it at any time from TikTok account settings.
