Ship Short
Ship Short runs entirely on the operator's own computer. It has no server,
no database and no user accounts. It does not collect, store, sell or
transmit personal information to the developer or to any third party.
What the tool handles
- Video files chosen by the operator from their own disk.
These are sent directly from that computer to the platform being posted to,
and nowhere else.
- Titles, captions and hashtags typed by the operator, sent
with the post.
- Access tokens issued by each platform after the operator
approves access. These are written to a local configuration file on the
operator's own machine.
What it never does
- Collect analytics, telemetry or usage data of any kind
- Read, download or store content belonging to other users
- Send data to servers operated by the developer, because there are none
- Share or sell any information to third parties
- Ask for or store a social account password. Access is granted only through
each platform's own login screen
TikTok data
When connected to TikTok, the tool requests the video.upload
scope. It uses that access solely to upload videos supplied by the operator to
the operator's own TikTok account. It does not read the operator's videos,
followers, profile details or any other account data, and it does not access
any other TikTok user's information.
Retention and revoking access
Access tokens live in a local file until the operator deletes them. Access
can be revoked at any time from the relevant platform's own settings, which
immediately stops the tool from posting. Deleting the tool's folder removes
every token it holds.
